Minister for Agriculture, Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura today held a meeting with officials connected with Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) to review progress of ongoing road projects in Chrar-e-Sharief here. During the meeting it was given out that construction work on up-gradation of six roads of Chrar-e-Sharief Constituency at an estimated cost of Rs 55.57 crore would be taken up soon. These include Kakerwing, Sursyar- Branwar-neego-Jabbad, Bonen- Kutbal upto Gogjipathri, Zoohama Babgund, Loolipora-Banjar Chontinard and Watakaloo-Wagindarwan.The issue of land compensation was also discussed and it was informed in the meeting that the assessment as per new rates has been sent to the R& B department.The Minister directed the PMGSY officers to pay land compensation to the landowners whose land has been acquired for widening of roads. It was informed in the meeting that Rs 3 crore will be paid as compensation to the land owners soon. It was also informed that Rs 30.16 crore were awarded for acquisition and Rs 12.84 crore were disbursed under PMRP.
It was also given out in the meeting that the Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for up gradation of four road projects including Hanjura-Shumnag Muqam and Nowpora-Branjan had been prepared and submitted to the concerned quarters for accord of sanction.On the occasion, Hanjura directed the PMGSY authorities to extend Hanjura-Branwar road up to Hijan. He also directed for completion of Chrar-e-Sharief-Yusmarg road within a month.It was informed in the meeting that 18 schemes, out of 23 schemes were completed and 71.39 kms of road length of Chrar-e-Sharief Constituency have been upgraded and repaired so far.Addressing the meeting, the Minister directed the concerned to speed up work on all ongoing developmental works including PMGSY roads and complete them in a stipulated time frame. He also asked them to use funds judiciously while maintaining quality of work.
District Development Commissioner Budgam, Mir Altaf Ahmad, SE PMGSY, Executive Engineer PMGSY and other concerned officers were present in the meeting.
In another meeting, convened to discuss and review the pace and progress of under execution works in Chrar-e-Charief Town carried by Municipal Committee Chrar-e-Sharief, the Minister asked the concerned to prepare Detailed Project Report (DPR) for development of Chrar-e-Shareif Town and submit the same to the concerned quarter for accord of sanction.The Minister directed the Project Officer, Municipal Committee Chrar-e-Sharief to take the matter with regard to shortage of staff with the Administrative department.It was given out in the meeting that the construction work on Shopping Complex at Chrar-e-Sharief costing Rs 4.65 crore is going on in full pace.The meeting was attended by Special Secretary, Housing & Urban Development Department and other officers of H&UDD.
