Rs 694 Crore disbursed under District Credit Action Plan in Anantnag

To review the performance of various banks, a District Level Review cum Consultative Committee (DLRC) meeting under District Credit Action Plan and achievements of the financial year 2015-16 were today discussed under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner, Dr. Syed Abid Rasheed at Dak Bunglow, Khanabal.

The meeting was attended by ADDC Anantnag, ACD, District Animal and Sheep Husbandry Officer, District officers of Horticulture, Agriculture, Fisheries, Sericulture, Handloom, Employment, and Handicrafts besides District Lead Bank Manager, Director RSETI and representatives of RBI, NABARD and other banks operating in the district were also present.

The District Lead Bank Manager gave detailed information about the performance of the banks and said that for the year 2015-16, the banks have disbursed loans amounting to Rs. 694 Crore under priority sector, against a target of Rs. 804 Crore.The LDM also informed about the sector wise achievements and said that against a target of Rs. 345 Crore under Agriculture and allied sector, an advancement of Rs. 264.78 Crore has been made. Similarly under Micro and Small Enterprises Rs. 388.39 Crore was advanced against a target of Rs 364 Crore.Taking note of the dismal performance of some private sector banks regarding the credit distribution under priority sectors, the District Development Commissioner directed the representatives to ensure more credit facilitation to the young and budding entrepreneurs of the district.
