Minister for Agriculture, Mr. Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura today distributed cheques amounting to Rs 32.33 lakh, under State Disaster Relief Fund (SDRF), among 407 beneficiaries of Chrar-e-Sharief Constituency whose houses, cowsheds and other structures were damaged due to incessant rains, land and soil erosion in March 2015.District Development Commissioner, Budgam, Mir Altaf Ahmad and other officers of revenue department were present on the occasion.Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said the coalition Government led by Ms Mehbooba Mufti is committed to provide basic amenities like adequate drinking water, power, education and health to the people of the State. He said holistic development of Jammu and Kashmir is the Government’s mission adding that several measures are underway to upgrade the basic infrastructure in all crore sectors including road connectivity. Mr. Hanjura said that efforts are afoot to spread road network in the State. 

He said maximum roads of the State were macadamized during last year adding that improvement and upgradation of the link roads is our priority and directions have already been given to the administration for formulation of action plan for some vital roads that need upgradation.Reiterating the efforts of the Government to ensure peace and prosperity in the State, the Minister said that peace is imperative for overall development of the State.Referring to the initiatives taken during last year for the development of Chrar-e-Sharief constituency, the Minister said that 50 transformers were installed out of Constituency Development Fund (CDF) and good number of lanes and drains constructed. He said construction work of ongoing hospitals and school buildings were ensured to speed up and asked the concerned executing agencies to complete the projects in a fixed target.Interacting with the media persons on sidelines of the function, the Minister said that some vested interests are out to disrupt peace in the State by repeatedly raising such issues on which the Government has already made its stance clear.The Minister said Kashmir is incomplete without Kashmiri Pandits and appealed them to return to the Valley.
