Farmers from different hamlets of Palhallan area Monday blocked highway and disrupted traffic for hours after they were allegedly maltreated by an official at Irrigation office.The protesters mostly elders said that they have demanding the installation of water pumps in the area and to convey this demand to the officials they visited Assistant Executive Engineer mechanical Irrigation office where an official misbehaved with them.“The arrogant behavior from the official forced them to hit to roads,” the protesters told CNS.Sub-Divisional Magistrate Syed Faheem along with a police party led by Station House Officer Pattan Javaid Ahmed rushed to spot and pacified the elderly protesters. The SDM sought explanation from the said official. (CNS)
