DIG CKR Flags off cycle marathon in Srinagar at SKICC

A cycle marathon-Pedalon was organized today by an NGO Sunrise in Kashmir which was flagged off by DIG CKR Ghulam Hassan Bhat at SKICC early this morning. The cyclists were divided in different categories and they peddled from SKICC to Habbak Crossing and back.At the culmination of the race a prize distribution function was organized in the SKICC auditorium.Speaking on this occasion DIG CKR Ghulam Hassan Bhat complimented the group “Sunrise in Kashmir” led by Faiz Dijoo for organizing this event in which cyclists from under 10 years age to 85 years age participated. He said that the organizers have tried to give the message to make the society drug free by making the young people aware about the ill effects of the drugs. 

He said that the drug menace is damaging the capabilities of the youth and such events will go in a long way in creating awareness against this evil. Referring to the recent successes of the youth of State in the all India Civil Services, he said that there is no dearth of talent in the state and we should organize such programmes which will provide opportunities to the youth to highlight their abilities in different sports and related activates to come out with flying colours in different competitions.

Under 10 category Tajamul Farooq, Hashim and Musaib bagged 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions respectively. In Under 15 category Momin Ismail, Towheed Ahmad and Mubashir Ahmad bagged 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions respectively. In Under 18 category Aakash, Salik Ahmad and Ali Fazili bagged 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions respectively. In above 18 category Amir Asad, Aaqib Rasool and Rafiq Ahmad bagged 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions respectively.In the women’s senior and junior competitions, Insha Wadoo and Fatima bagged 1st and 2nd positions in senior category while Rubab Ali, Shah Ifrah and Azikya bagged 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions in junior category.
