Minister of State for Transport, Science and Technology, Mr. Sunil Sharma Saturday chaired a review meeting of the District Development Board here. The Minister took a thorough review of the decisions taken in the previous DDB meeting held earlier this year.While emphasizing on utilization of 100 per cent funds provided under the district plan, state plan and other centrally sponsored schemes, the Minister impressed upon all the heads of the departments and sectoral officers to ensure implementation of all the board decisions.The Minister said Government will attend to all the developmental needs of district Kishtwar and focus shall remain on Health, education, PHE, R&B and RDD sectors besides other departments.During the meeting, the DDC Kishtwar presented a detailed report on the progress achieved with respect to the implementation of DDB decisions in the District.The Minister stressed upon departments to be answerable to people as most of the schemes don’t seems to be executed on ground due to laxity of officers besides most of the time departments don't have a scheme and funds get lapsed.

The Minister said that construction of reservoirs for providing potable water would be taken up in convergence. He said that CDF will be made available for the construction of Sports stadium, for which 75 kanals land have been identified and added that a detailed project was submitted for funding in this regard.

The Minister directed the concerned departments for close coordination to remove impediments confronting in construction of some roads projects in the district. He also urged for immediate forest clearances for constructions of roads in the area.He instructed the concerned officers to take in confidence local MLAs while formulating developmental plans under different sectors. He also urged for time bond redressal of complaints of the people besides instructed for identifying land for parking places in the Kishtwar town.The Minister asked the Agriculture department to work hard for development of saffron, Rajmash and other local crops in the district. He also asked the officers concerned to implement strictly centrally sponsored schemes in the district so that the benefits of these would reach to the people well in time. Warning stern action against dereliction of duty, the Minister called upon the sectoral officers to ensure punctuality of the officials in their departments adding that any negligence in this regard would be viewed seriously for stern action. He also directed for constitution special squads to ensure punctuality in Govt offices.The District Development Commissioner, Kishtwar, Chief Planning Officer, ACR, ACD, SSP, DFO, SE PDD, CEO XEN R&B, PMGSY, JKPCC, PHE, All district officers, CMO, EO Municipality, ARTO, DPO attended the meeting.
