Asking people to remain cautious about the vicious plans of the state government and New Delhi of making Kashmiris economically, politically and socially indigent and dependant on India, Hurriyat (M) Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq said that the so-called Jammu Kashmir Assembly has been used by the so-called peoples’ representatives to implement all such laws and policies which were totally against the interests of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.Addressing the Friday congregation at historic Jamia Masjid Srinagar, the Mirwaiz said all the governments which came to power since 1947 implemented such policies which were aimed to disempower Kashmiris. He said those who were terming BJP as an enemy had now joined hands with them and were implementing Saffron agenda here.

Hurriyat (M) Chairman said in the name of NEET, Sainik Colonies and now the new Industrial Policy, every tactic was being used to grab the lands of Kashmiris.

He said thousands of acres of land is already under the illegal occupation of the Indian Army and now more land is being provided to the non state subject industrialists on the pretext of establishment of industries here. The Mirwaiz said as per the information, 300 kanal of land had been provided to non state subject holders and 90 kanal of land had been allotted to a non-local corporation.

Urging Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industries (KCCI) and other business organizations to create awareness about these issues among the public, he said APHC, with the support of the people, will oppose tooth and nail any such move by the government. The Mirwaiz said that the number of educated unemployed youth was one and a half lakh in 2007 which had increased to 7 lakh in 2014. In this regard, he said, J&K Bank which is a very important financial institution of Jammu and Kashmir, instead of providing loans worth billions to the non-locals, should provide adequate loans to the unemployed youth of the state on easy installments so as to enable them to set-up their own industries and business units which could increase the employment chances in Kashmir and become an effective means to minimize unemployment from the state.Mirwaiz further said that the local businessmen and industrialists who have been provided with the facilities of land etc in various industrial estates should utilize it fully in order to increase industrial production and employment opportunities for Kashmiries.Referring to the 26th martyrdom anniversary of the Shaheed-e-Millat Mirwaiz Moulvi Muhammad Farooq and Martyrs of Hawal and the 14th martyrdom anniversary of Sheed-e-Hurriyat Abdul Gani Lone, the Mirwaiz said, glowing tributes would be paid to them during the Haftaa-e-Shahadat programme that starts from May 16, 2016.

The Mirwaiz said May 21, 1990 was one of the darkest day of Kashmir history when under a well-planned conspiracy Shaheed-e-Millat Mirwaiz Moulvi Muhammad Farooq was martyred to silence the voice of Kashmiris and the voice that is raised from the pulpit of Jamia Masjid and represents the aspirations of Kashmiris.

He said after the martyrdom of the Shaheed-e-Millat, around 70 bereaved people, who were part of the funeral procession of the Shaheed-e-Millat were martyred at Hawal and from that day to the present day, thousand of unarmed Kashmiris had been martyred in a systematic pattern.Hurriyat (M) Chairman said that nations possessing strong will and conscience do not forget their martyrs and to remember the sacrifices of these martyrs, the Haftaa-e-Shahadat programme provides an opportunity to recall their martyrdom, pay glowing tributes to them and make a resolve to carry forward their mission to its logical conclusion.Announcing the Haftaa-e-Shahdat programme, he said it would start on May 16, Monday with Quran Khawani and prayer meetings at all central, district and tehsil offices of Jammu Kashmir Awami Action Committee from 10 am, following which, a Qirat competition organised by Anjuman-e-Auqaf Jamia Masjid Srinagar would be held at Jamia Masjid Srinagar. On May 17, Tuesday, a seminar ‘Shuhada Ka Khoon Zulmo Tashadud Par Bhari Hai – Ek Musalimah Haqeeqat’ organised by the APHC would be held at the APHC Headquarters Rajbagh. On May 18, Wednesday, an educative and reformative conference on the subject ‘Islam Main Amaal Saleuh Ki Ahmiyat’ organised by the Anjuman-e-Nusrat-ul-Islam would be held from 10:30am in the Anjuman-e-Nusrat-ul-Islam Trust Islamabad High School compound.

On May 19, Thursday, a blood donation camp cum health camp organised by Jammu Kashmir Awami Action Committee would start at 9:30 am inside the compound of the historic Aali Masjid, Eidgah Srinagar where besides the donors donating their blood, prominent doctors of the State would provide free consultation and free medicine to the patients attending the camp.On May 20, Friday, following the Friday congregational prayers, Awami Action Committee would lead a rally of its workers from Mirwaiz Manzil Rajouri Kadal to Shaheed-e-Chowk Hawal where a public gathering would be held.On May 21, Saturday, a massive public rally would be held at Martyrs Graveyard Eidgah Srinagar where glowing tributes would be paid to Shaheed-e-Millat Mirwaiz Moulvi Muhammad Farooq, Shaheed-e-Hurriyat Khawaja Abdul Gani Lone, Martyrs of Hawal and all the martyrs of Kashmir and it would be resolved that the mission of the martyrs would be taken to its logical conclusion while entire Kashmir would observe complete shutdown on this day.
