Minister for Cooperative, Chering Dorjey today inspected the progress of work on beautification project of leh.Minister was accompanied by Executive Councilor (EC) for Works Dorjey Mutup, Councilor Upper Leh Gay Lobzang Nyantak, Councilor Lower Leh Punchok Wangdan, Superintending Engineer Public Works Department (PWD)- Tashi Chombel, Administrator Muncipal Corporation Dr. Zaida Bhano and Executive Engineers of different wings.
The Minister inspected Main Market, Housing Colony, Ibex Colony, Murtsey colony, Fort road, Old road and Gangles in Leh.The Minister directed Superintending Engineer PWD for early completion of different works by engaging extra men and machinery. He also instructed EC Works, Dorjey Mutup to speed up the works by taking both the Councilors of Leh into confidence.
He also stressed for close coordination among different agencies while executing works.Inspecting the Main Market, the Minister directed engineers to have an emergency plan and stressed on giving easy access to Fire Brigade vehicle to the interior market.While inspecting works in different streets of Housing Colony, SE PWD- Tashi Chombel informed the Minister that almost all the household of H. Colony have been connected to water supply and black topping of roads will start within a week. For early black topping of roads of Murtsey and Ibex Colony, Minister directed Executive Engineer, Public Health Engineering to handover the roads to Construction Division at the earliest.
