Minister for State for Finance, Planning, CAPD, Tribal affairs, Employment, Relief and Rehabilitation, Mr. Ajay Kumar Nanda today said that reaching out to the people and redressal of their grievances is among the top most priorities of the present dispensation.The Minister said that while chairing a Public grievances redressal camp at Rest House Chawalgam, during his maiden visit to district. The minister was accompanied by various officers of the district and police administration.During the Public grievances redressal camp, various public delegations apprised the Minister about the issues faced by them particularly regarding the issue of ration distribution, drinking water supply, rural electricity, road connectivity, provision of concrete flood protection bund along the river Veshaw besides release of funds for left out flood affected families.

The Minister gave a patient hearing to all the grievances and passed on spot directions to the concerned officers to redress the same on priority.He reiterated the Government’s commitment to give a corruption free, efficient and proactive administration under the leadership of Chief Minister Ms Mehbooba Mufti.Earlier the Minister took stock of the progress of completion of IPD block of District Hospital, SDH Quimoh, PHC Devsar and the much awaited Finance Complex in the premises of Mini Secretariat. He directed the concerned executing agencies to expedite the works on priority basis and ensure use of quality material. He asked the engineers to personally monitor the works so that these are completed within the stipulated time.

Earlier the Minister had a detailed review meeting with all the Sectoral Officers of different departments of the district wherein he laid emphasis on provision of basic amenities to people living in the far flung areas of the district.The Minister enjoined upon the officers to work efficiently so that deserving people are benefitted from the welfare schemes launched by the government. The Minister asked the Deputy Commissioner Kulgam to make Public grievances redressal camp a regular feature and conduct same throughout the year.On the occasion, the District Development Commissioner, Showkat Aijaz Bhat gave a brief account of development works going on in the district.
