Minister for PHE,Irrigation and Flood Control  Sham Lal Choudhary  today conducted an extensive tour of Dooru Constituency to take stockof the on-going projects being executed under the sectors and restoration of protection bandh along the Bringi Nallah damaged due to flood of 2014. Minister of State for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Haj and Auqaf Syed Farooq Ahmad Andrabi also accompanied the Minister during the tour.During the tour the Ministers visited Koshipora, Hakura, Dahran, Mantpora, Bongund, Look Bhawan and Verinag areas of the Constituency and addressed a series of meetings.

 Mr. Sham Lal Choudhary said that the people have expectations from the present Government and the government functionaries have to attend people on priority in redressing their grievances.  He said that there was great need of change in political sphere of the state and the people gave their mandate for the change. He said, to respect this mandate, the Government would work for the betterment of the people and development of the state.

 Responding to the demands at various place relating to construction of protection bandh along Bringi-Nallah, bridges over Nallah at different places, adequate supply of safe drinking water and power, widening of roads, upgradation of local health centres, repair and renovation of irrigation khulls,  the Minister assured that their genuine demands would be fulfilled on priority.Chairing a review meeting at Anantnag, the Minister asked the concerned for completion of on-going works and taking into hand projects of public importance under the sector. Inspecting the source of water  at Look Bhawan Nagbal, the Minister order an inquiry to  ascertain the facts whether proper treatment of water is being conducted with bleaching powder before supplying it  to about dozens of villages of the area from this source.

The Ministers also paid obeisance at Nagbal temple and prayed for the welfare and development of the State.Addressing on the occasion, Syed Farooq Ahmad Andrab also highlighted the initiatives taken by the Former Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed for the development of the State in general and  Dooru Constituency in particular. He said various development projects would be taken into hand to start a new era of development in the area. He said that Water Supply Scheme Verinag would be upgraded for the convenience of the people. Secretary, PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control Mr. Sanjeev Verma, Chief Engineers, PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Kashmir Division and other senior engineers of the concerned departments accompanied the Minister during the tour.
