Model lab, library inaugurated at GHSS Rehari

As a part of the model school institutions scheme started in the state with an aim to develop and upgrade the government educational institutions  a Model laboratory and library was inaugurated by MLA West, Sat Sharma in presence of District Development Commissioner, Jammu Simrandeep Singh at Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Rehari here today.The initiative includes certain key components for developing facilities in Government schools viz-a-viz requisite upgradation to the Model School, enrichment of the school environment by engaging children in co-curricular activities, improving teaching facilities and techniques, special arrangements for teacher training and introducing latest innovations. The objective of the scheme is to bring the schools at par with educational standards of best of the private schools in the state. In the first phase of this initiative, the focus will be laid on developing and upgrading the school laboratories in the district.Under the initiative, MLAs of Jammu division have adopted a school each in their respective constituencies for developing them as Model schools. 

In this programme, eight schools were identified and were approved for up gradation of laboratories to the highest standards barring three schools where the school buildings faced certain problem.The schools brought up under Modern School Initiative are GHSS Rehari, GHSS Mubarak Mandi, GHSS Nagrota , BHSS Akhnoor , HSS Pallanwala, HSS  Domana  , HSS Chakrohi.Speaking on the occasion, MLA Sat Sharma stressed on  replicating this model in all the government Schools so that they come up as premium educational institutions  providing quality education  to the students . He also asked the schools to work out modalities and project requirements for improving enrollments.In his address Deputy Commissioner Jammu  said that inauguration of this modern lab and library in Government Girls Higher Secondary School is  a  tribute to ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ programme. He instructed the management to ensure better upkeep and optimal use of upgraded facilities.Director School Education Jammu, Smita Sethi, ADDC Anuradha Gupta, Joint Director Information Jammu, Tilak Raj Shastri, CEO J K Sudan, officers of line departments, principals of government schools and students were present on the occasion.
