Govt has not allotted land for Sainik Colony: Mehbooba Mufti

No non-state subject ex-servicemen demanded land’

Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti Monday admitted that the retired state subject ex-servicemen have been demanding land for residential colony, but the government has “not allotted” land for establishing Sainik Colony.“The demand for the Sainik Colony is from ex-servicemen who are state subjects. No ex-servicemen from outside the state has demanded land for sanik colony,mehbooa told repoter at civil secetrate after receving guard of honour “But till date the government has not allotted any for establishing Sainik Colony,” she said.Mehbooba said that no power in the country will go against the special status of the state.

“Whether it is the chief minister or the Prime Minister, nobody can go against the special status of the state,” she said.Reiterating her father, late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed’s decision for allying with BJP, she said that her father took a difficult decision not for damaging the identity of the state but for safeguarding the identity of Jammu and Kashmir.The chief minister appealed to the people for helping the government in maintaining peace in the state.“People should not believe in rumours. I appeal the people to give us a chance for maintaining peace in the state and support us in taking it out of the quagmire,” she said[kns]
