The Congress's Uttarakhand unit on Sunday said the state politics had been "disgraced" by some anti-Uttarakhand forces and held the BJP's anti-democratic thinking responsible for it."The way Uttarakhand's politics has been disgraced by some anti-Uttarakhand forces is condemnable. A deep wound has been inflicted, which is going to take very long to heal. And we hold the BJP's anti-democratic thinking responsible for it," state Congress chief Kishor Upadhyay said. The Congress leader also accused Bharatiya Janata Party general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya of "poisoning" Uttarakhand's politics and said he should be kept away from state politics.

In letters to Governor K.K. Paul and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Upadhayay said the senior BJP functionary must be stopped from participating in any political activity in Uttarakhand for the sake of "state's dignity and democracy".Vijayvargiya is a legislator from his native Madhya Pradesh. "We urge the governor to bar him (Vijayvargiya) from taking part in state politics and request (chief minister) Chouhan to call him back to his state," Upadhyay said.Calling Vijayvargiya an "expert at playing dirty tricks", Upadhyay said his party feared that the BJP may try to derail Tuesday's floor test through some crooked method.
