The District Red Cross Society, Reasi today celebrated World Red Cross Day with great enthusiasm at Government Girls higher Secondary School, Reasi
District Development Commissioner, Reasi who is also chairman of District Red Cross Society, Mr. Ravinder Kumar formally flagged off the rally.An awareness rally of young students from different educational institutions of the district was organised. The students carried placards and banners were shouting slogans 'Donate blood and save life'. The rally, culminated at the DC Complex.On the occasion, volunteers of red cross society donated Rs 3.75 lakh .The DDC, while addressing the participants, stressed on promoting peace, love and cooperation. He said that the services rendered by the organization have motivated others to extend a helping hand to the needy. He added that the Red Cross Society had participated in every disaster response operations with total commitment and dedication.
Later, the students of Degree College Reasi performed skit and other cultural items to convey the message to general public regarding the noble works done by Indian Red Cross Society.On the occasion all district officers and others took oath to save the humanity.Among others Additional Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Mr. Bhawani Singh Rakwal ,ACR Mr. Abdul Sattar ,ADC Mr. Shiv Kumar Gupta Additional SP,Mr. Sanjay Rana, CEO Mr. Vinod Kumar Soni, CMO Mr. Parminder singh, DTO Mr. Mahesh Sharma, DSWO Mr. Pritam Thapa, Principal Government Degree College Reasi ,Ms. Hemla Aggarwal, Executive General Secretary Red Cross Society Reasi Mr. Rakesh Wazir , General Secretary Mr. Shiv Kumar Sharma and other district officers, students, prominent citizen were present on the occasion.
