Minister for Agriculture Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura today said that present government led by Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti is committed to provide basic amenities to the people of all the three regions of the State.He said that measures are underway to upgrade the existing infrastructure of all core sectors and efforts are afoot to make the Jammu and Kashmir State a developed and model State of the Country.The Minister was addressing large public gatherings at Watkaloo and Choudhrygund villages after conducting extensive tour of various areas of Chrar-e-Sharief Constituency today.He said that the need of the hour is to upgrade the living standard of the weaker sections of the society for which the present Government is very serious and in this regard several steps have already been taken and various initiatives are in pipeline.Referring to the developmental works under execution in the constituency, the Minister announced that new Receiving Station will be constructed at Hafuru village soon. He said on completion of this project it will improve power supply of the area.He said that an amount of Rs 53 lakh have been incurred on construction of protection bunds near Loolipora, Shivpora, Bedipora and Hanjura villages over Apzeri Nallah during the year 2015-16. 

He said the department of Flood Control had already been instructed to conduct survey of Apzeri Nallah and prepare Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for construction of protection of bunds so that the funds could be arranged for the purpose.He said the construction work on Loolipora-Banjar and Cheerkud road projects under PMGSY will be started soon. He said Rs 13.30 crore would be spent on these projects. He also said that the construction work on Brinjan-Nowpora road costing Rs 6.5 crore will be started soon under PMGSY.Hanjura also said that an amount of Rs 18.40 crore have been sanctioned for construction of Water Supply Schemes (WSSs), Watkaloo and Shanderpora. He said work on these schemes will be started soon and on completion of these projects it will give adequate drinking water facilities to 12500 souls of the adjacent areas of Watkaloo and Shanderpora respectively.The Minister directed the concerned for surveying the Choudhary gund area and identifying the land for construction of borewell.Responding to the demand of development of playing field at Nowpora, the Minister asked for identifying the land so that funds can be released for the purpose.He also said that the BSNL had already been directed to install telecom tower at Brinjan and Yousmarg.
