Minister for Agriculture Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura today visited various areas including Bonan and Nowhar villages of Chrar-e-Sharief Constituency and took stock of the people’s problems besides developmental needs. He also inspected various irrigation khuls in these areas. Mr. Hanjura directed the Irrigation authorities to reactivate, repair, dragging and renovates all the Khuls of the Constituency on priority. A team of senior officers of district administration including District Development Commissioner, Budgam Mir Altaf Ahmad accompanied the Minister during his tour.Addressing a large public gatherings at Bonan and Nowhar, the Minister said that under PMGSY an amount of Rs 9 crore have been sanctioned for up gradation of Surisyar-Kotibal road and work on the project will be started soon. He said Government is committed to upgrade the basic infrastructure of all crore sectors like health, education and power besides measures are underway to spread the road net work including machdamization of the State.The Minister said that the construction work on Water Supply Schemes (WSS) Nowhar and WSS Kotibal will be started soon and Rs 5.5 crore would be spent on these schemes. He said on completion of these projects it will minimize the water scarcity of Choudhrygund, Nowhar, Serigund and its adjacent areas.The Minister directed on-the-spot to the Assistant Commissioner Development, Budgam to construct bridge over Kumar Mohallah Nallah on priority which he said is the long pending demand of the people of the area.Responding the demand of holding of awareness camp, Mr. Hanjura announced that a mega Awareness-cum-Kissan Mela would be organized in the area soon.He also directed the horticulture department to conduct frequent field visits of the area and educate farmers about the spray and other techniques.
