Welcoming New Delhi for allowing separatists to talk with Pakistan, Hurriyat (M) chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Monday said that dialogue process is the only way to resolve Kashmir issue. While addressing a news conference at party head quarter at Rajbagh, Mirwaiz said, “Allowing separatists to talk with Pakistan is a welcome step. We have always supported the dialogue process as this is the only way through which Kashmir issue can be resolved.”“Kashmir issue is a core issue. I hope that New Delhi would not draw any red lines and the present regime at New Delhi will follow the Vajpayee’s path in resolving the K-issue,” he said.Mirwaiz said that putting curbs, arresting and restricting separatist leaders to take part in the religious duties is “glaring example of worst kind of state terrorism”.He said that if government believes that the voice of Kashmir will be suppressed by using such kind of tactics then they are living in fool’s paradise. “Such is the situation in the state that even the people were not allowed to hold funeral prayers in absentia for JKLF founder member Amanullah Khan. It is direct religious interference, which should be topped at earliest,” he said.

Mirwaiz said that despite putting curbs outside the Srinagar’s Jamia Masjid, at least 150 youth receive pellet injuries in the area while 12 among them lost eye-sight as well. “We appeal government to stop such kind of things in Kashmir soon,” he said.Threatening to appeal people to come on roads, Mirwaiz said if such happenings will not stop then they will appeal people to come on roads to protest against such kind of tactics. “I want to ask government that if they want to fight with us then fight with us on political turf. I believe that government has accepted defeat due to which they are now putting curbs on separatist leaders to suppress the voices of people,” he said.He said that the Handwara minor girl who was allegedly molested allegedly b y an army man has been placed under detention. “I believe that it is not detention but abduction. It is neither a first incident nor last. Until and unless AFSPA and draconian laws will not be revoked, such incidents will not end,” he said.Mirwaiz said that he want to convey a message to the people of Jammu and Kashmir and world community that by putting curbs on separatist leaders, the government has accepted defeat.
