Gulzar Singh ranike, Animal Husbandry Minister Punjab in his message on the World Veterinary Day called upon the NGOs doctors and other societies actively involved in various sectors of Animal Rearing, to ensure good health care facilities to the cattle and other animals.The Minister said that with the theme of “Continuing Education with a One Health Focus”, the Punjab government would lay more emphasis on on the promotion of the One Health Concept. He made a fervent appeal to the people to provide good health congenial atmosphere and good diet to the pets so that the healthy disease free environment for the masters could be ensured.
Ranike also said that in order to facilitate complete health care services to the cattle at block levels, the Animal Husbandry Department has initiated the 24 hours On-Call Service for providing immediate relief to the ailing animals.Meanwhile, the Minister has asked the officers of the department to ensure that the cattle farmers be provided complete information regarding the diseases, treatment and medicines to be given to the animals. The Minister has also directed the officers to ensure presence of adequate permanent staff (veterinary officers/ veterinary pharmacist) deputed in evening shift so that the complete health care facilities could be ensured in the Polyclinics.
