Reiterating  the resolve of the present coalition government to uplift Rural Masses by providing basic amenities in all the three regions of the state,  Minister for Rural Development & Panchayati Raj  Abdul Haq said that dove-tailing of resources of Line Departments  in convergence with MGNREGA can play a vital role in creating durable assets in rural areas.The Minister said this while chairing a meeting organized to review the progress of RDD after inaugurating two Panchayat Ghars and Lane Drains in Blocks Katra and Panthal in Reasi District here today.  MOS Finance & Planning, IT, Law & Justice, Ajay Nanda, MLA Gool- Arnas Aijaz Ahmed Khan, District Dev. Commissioner Reasi Ravinder Kumar, Director Rural Dev. Jammu M L Raina, Additional District Development Commissioner Reasi Bhawani Rakwal, Assistant Commissioner Development Reasi Suram Chand Sharma and other District officers were present on the occasion.    

The Panchayat Ghar at Kotli Bajalian has been constructed in a record period of four months under convergence with 13th FC & MGNREGAon the direction of the Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Mr. Abdul Haq during his first visit to Reasi District in the month of April.On the occasion, the Minister also inaugurated the Panchayatghar building constructed in Panchayat Hutt, Block Katra and Lane /Darin At Moori under MGNREGA Scheme.While reviewing the progress of works under all schemes of the Department Haq Khan exhorted upon the Rural Development functionaries to create durable assets visa- viz providing ensured employment to the rural poor households.

Abdul Haq reviewed the progress made under various schemes at panchayat level and enjoined upon grass root level functionaries to maintained up to date record of all the works executed in their respective areas in asset registers.

Speaking on the occasion, MOS Finance Law & Justice & Parliamentary Affairs, Ajay Nanda of lauded the efforts of Rural Development Department in mitigating the miseries of the Rural Masses by providing basic amenities at their door steps, he also assured all possible help out of his CDF part for taking up big works under convergence. MLA Gool-Arnas, Aijaz Ahmed Khan highlighted the demands of his constituency keeping in view the tough terrain of the area. He also exhorted upon the field functionaries to go for convergence of various resources for orientation of durable assets. Earlier, DDC Reasi, Ravinder  Kumar presented a brief resume of progress made by the department in the district.ACD Reasi, Suram Chand Sharma while presenting the achievements of the department in the district informed that 17.50 lac PDs were generated during the year 2015-16 against the target of 16.57 lac PDs there by registering progress of 110% and nearly 42000 families were provided employment under MGNREGA.
