Universal Group of institutions organised International Dance Day with rhythm and celebrated the joy, beauty and energy that dance brings. The reason behind celebrating this day was to provide a proper place to dance in education .At the moment various dance items were organised by the students. Folk dances of various states were centre attraction of the show. Students also participated in eye catching modern dance. Besides this, students also revealed in their performance universality of this art form, which crosses all political, cultural and ethnic barriers and brings people together through the common language of Dance.
While encouraging the students Chairman, Universal Group, Dr Gurpreet Singh informed the students that the date was chosen to commemorate the birthday of Jean Georges Noverre who was born in 1727, a French dancer and ballet master and a great reformer of dance. According to him by celebrating International Dance Day we can promote the arts of dance around the world. He further added that it is a great way to keep healthy and fit. Dancing also help in losing weight, reduce stress, make friends and better social skills in hectic lifestyle.
