Strongly condemning the imposition of restrictions and arresting of separatist leaders Jammu Kashmir National Front chairperson and senior Hurriyat (g) leader, Nayeem Ahmad Khan Wednesday said that Kashmir is the only region in the world where people are not allowed to hold “Nimaz-e-Jinazas” of the dead, he said in a statement to CNS.He said it is “shameful” that Nimaz-e-Jinaza in absentia of late “pro-freedom” leader Amanullah Khan was banned by using forces, imposing restrictions and arresting leaders. “Today’s shameful act has again revealed the face of India and its local collaborators.”He said, “Ban on Nimaz-e-Jinaza is an act of big disgrace and we strongly condemn such acts. This is a clear message that people living in the disputed region are deprived of their social and religious rights.”

Strongly reacting to the curbs on common people, Nayeem Ahmad Khan said that this attitude of India and its local “collaborators” has again vindicated our stand that Jammu Kashmir has been turned into a “police state” and there is no rule of law. Paying homage to the pro-freedom leader and a companion of Maqbool Bhat, Amanullah Khan, Nayeem Ahmad Khan said that late leader’s services will be remembered for generations to come.He said that Amanullah Khan was a great warrior who fought for the rights of Kashmiri people throughout his life. “Late Amanullah Khan remained steadfast and showed the way of resistance,” he said.Nayeem Khan while remembering the services of the late Amanullah Khan said that he will be known for his diplomatic efforts which he rendered to gather support for the resolution of Kashmir dispute.“Amanullah Khan’s demise has created a void which is hard to fulfil. The best way of paying tributes to the late leader is to pledge that until and unless Kashmir dispute is resolved according to the wishes of the people, the resistance movement will continue.” (CNS)
