The tree plantation program organized by Oakridge International School. The aim of this celebration was to create awareness among the students about environment and encourage them to plant herbal plants also which can be used for good health, at schools and their homes. Saplings were also distributed to students and teachers to plant at home.Principal of the school Ramanjit Ghuman encouraged the students to plant trees and nurture them. According to her the importance of trees in purifying the air, as natural resources, maintaining the ecological balance, preventing soil erosion, as medicines, habitats for faunal species, providing nutrients to the soil cannot be ignored .

She later made students aware of importance forests, wild animals, biodiversity also.Abhishek Sharma, the Director of the school said that main aim of organizing this drive was to make the students aware about the hazards of pollution and the need for planting more trees so as to save the Earth . He further also discouraged  the usage of paper bags and make city plastic free. With a motive to sensitize people about the dangers being faced by the green planet, students took a pledge to make the city plastic free.
