Governor Acharya Devvrat urges students to inculcate positive thinking

Governor Acharya Devvrat said that students were competent to achieve any goal in life provided that they had proper guidance, training and positive thinking. The Governor was addressing the students of Government Senior Secondary School, Parwanoo in Solan district today.The Governor said the teachers could play an important role to prepare the students for future challenges and added that in the present context, such educated youth were required who preserved cultural knowledge with positive mindset in adversity to move forward.  He said there was no lack of talent in students and trained teachers were competent in nurturing these talents in the national interest.Acharya Devvrat said that teachers in Himachal Pradesh were fully trained and it was up to the parents to send their wards not only to private schools but government schools as well which were providing quality education to the children. He urged the teaching faculty, besides school curriculum they should also teach human values to the students so that they could become better citizens.

He said that the students should learn from the lives of great men and added that former president of India Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, President of the United States Abraham Lincoln and many more great personalities achieved top position through hard work and dedication.  He said that the students should always concentrate on their goal with diligence and dedication.The Governor urged the parents and teachers to keep away the youth from drugs. He also appealed to join  Beti Bachao Abhiyan so that sex ratio could be improved in the State. He said that he would visit government schools from time to time to encourage the students.The students also presented a sapling to the Governor. A colourful cultural programme was also presented by the students on the occasion.Principal, GSSS, Parwanoo Smt. Sujata Gupta welcomed the Governor and read out the annual report.Chairman, Muncipal Council,  Parwanoo Shri Thakur Das proposed vote of thanks.President, School Management Committee Shri Virender Sharma, Vice Chairperson Smt. Birma Devi, Officers of the State government and other prominent people were also present on the occasion.
