Mishra chairs high level meeting, reviews security arrangements ahead of PM’s visit

Director General (Coordination), S. K. Mishra convened a high level meeting at Police Control Room (PCR) here this afternoon to review the security arrangements ahead of Prime Minister’s visit to Jammu scheduled on April 19.Senior officers from civil administration, police, army civil, intelligence and central police paramilitary forces were present in the meeting.During the meeting all security arrangements related to Prime Minister’s visit including the routes and locations were discussed in threadbare. DG stressed for sanitizing and domination of all the routes, areas the Prime Minister is passing through during his visit. Deployment of manpower from different forces and intelligence agencies was also discussed in the meeting.Addressing the meeting, Mr. Mishra stressed for greater synergy among different agencies and forces being deployed for the security of VVIP. He said that the common strategy should be adopted to ensure the smooth visit of Prime Minister. He asked for input sharing to make required arrangements by the deployed forces and agencies. 

While discussing traffic arrangements, the DG asked for diversion of public transport to alternate routes so that common people do not suffer due to security reasons. He asked to ensure proper parking plan on the identified slots and stressed to sanitize the border areas and establish Nakas at border locations to check the activities of anti-nationals.

Mr. Mishra emphasized upon the officers involved in the security to keep an eye on the activities of suspicious elements. He also stressed for making effective arrangements and conduct a rehearsal in advance to make the arrangements fool proof. He said that all requirements of equipment projected by various agencies related with the visit would be fulfilled forthwith and any deficiencies of manpower be worked out in advance. He informed that a joint Control Room has been established at PCR Jammu to monitor the arrangements for the visit by various agencies including para-military forces, intelligence, police and civil administration.Officers present in the meeting, representing different agencies, briefed the meeting about the required security arrangements put in place in connection with Prime Minister’s visit. They gave a detailed chart of deployment of personnel for the visit and said that proper briefing has  been made to the personnel put on security duties at different areas and location. The DG asked to utilize the services of security gadgets including CCTV cameras en-route the visit and locations. He said that comprehensive communication network has been established to improve coordinate among the agencies involved in the security.

ADGP (Security), Mr. Dilbag Singh briefed the meeting about the security arrangements made in connection with the visit of VVIP. He said that proper briefing has been made to all men and officers put on security duties at different locations. He said that sufficient manpower have been deployed with required equipment in the areas of visit.Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Mr. Pawann Kotwal also briefed the meeting about the arrangements made by the Divisional Administration for the visit.Among others, the meeting was attended by ADGP (Headquarters), V K Singh, IsGP, Yoginder Kotwal and Danish Rana, JD SB, Dheep Koul, Lt. Col. Harmminder Singh, Col. R. Subramanan, Col. HS Giri, IG BSF Kuldeep Dhar, DIG Jammu, AA Wani, DIG BSF, Surjit Singh, DIG, Udhampur-Reasi, Surinder Gupta, AIsGP, Tahir Sajad and Kulbir Singh, SSsP, Dr. Sunil Gupta, Romesh K. Angral, Sujit Kumar, Varinderf Sharma, Udhay Basker, Ashok Sharma, MS Choudhary and other police officers.
