A three phase campaign starting from April 14 to April 24th, called the ‘Gram Uday Se Bharat Uday’ Abhiyan, proposed by Union Government was today launched across District Doda under the overall supervision of District Development Commissioner Doda, Bhupinder Kumar. Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the campaign, to mark the 125th birth anniversary of Babasaheb Ambedkar, today on April 14 in Madhya Pradesh. The campaign will conclude on Panchayati Raj Day on April 24, when Prime Minister shall address all gram sabhas in the country from Jamshedpur.Events like rallies, seminars, dramas, street plays, debates, declamation contests, seminars, conferences, skits, role plays etc were organised on the theme 'social harmony'across all the gram panchayats in District on the first day of the Abhiyan.During the programmes the participants were informed by the Block Development Officers and other field staff that the first phase from April 14 to 16 will focus in the Gram Panchayat on programmes and activities related to Social Justice & Harmony in connection with the 125th Birth Anniversary of Dr B R Ambedkar.
In the second phase from April 17 to 20 focus in the Village Kissan Sabha will be on farmers and agricultural labourers and in the third and final phase from April 21 to 24 focus will be on organising special gram sabhas with maximum participation of villagers particularly women, SCs, STs and citizens belonging to other marginalized groups .The major event in the District was held at SAGY village Hambal were ADDC, Doda, Nariender Singh Bali , ACD DODA Susheel kumar among others paid homage to Dr B.R Ambedkar and discussed his life and views about national unity besides the literature regarding Dr Ambedkar was also distributed among the participants. In the camps people took oath of tolerance and social harmony across the District.
