Chairperson, Jammu and Kashmir State Social Welfare Board (JKSSWB), Dr. Nirmala Gupta today called upon the members of Civil Society and Youth to come forward and support razing by awareness among the needy, destitute, poor and old aged persons so that more and more deserving persons could be benefitted from the welfare schemes of the Social Welfare Board.The Chairperson was addressing a joint meeting of representatives of several organizations and senior citizens here today.Referring to various initiatives taken by the Board to support poor and old age persons, Dr. Nirmala Gupta said that “Chopal Day Care Centres” would be established to support old age persons.Dr. Gupta said that 694 creche centres are being run by State Social Welfare Board for children of downtrodden society where about 17000 children are getting day care facilities and supplementary nutrition. She stressed on share and care for elderly persons.Kanwal Gandotra, Chander Gulati, S S Bhalla, Advocate Vinod Sharma, Tilak Jain, T P Singh, Mohan Singh, Advocate Purnima Sharma, Padma Manhas, Rajesh Khullar, Sarla Kohli, OP Gupta, Kanwal Kishore Gandotra, BB Jain were also present in the meeting and appreciated the activities of State Social Welfare Board and extended their cooperation to make the programmes success.Secretary, State Social Welfare Board, Mr. Amir Ali was also present on the occasion.
