Syed Ali Geelani expresses anguish over killing of 60 year old man in Kupwara

‘Kashmiris are neither safe in their houses nor in any part of India’

While expressing deep concern and anguish over the killings of 60 year old Abdul Gani Naik from Kapran Kupwara and Maqsood Ahmed Shah 27 years, Hurriyat (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani Sunday said Kashmiris are neither safe in their houses nor in any part of India.In a statement issued to KNS, Chairman of Hurriyat (G) said India and its intelligentsia have waged war against the Kashmiris in practical terms and they have been harassed everywhere in every possible ways.

Criticized the role of state administration headed by BJP and PDP, Geelani demanded impartial investigations by some independent agency on both the killings and adding that Indian forces are directly responsible for the Kapran varinaag killing while on state administration yet to come up with the version and facts on Jalandhar killing.

He said the way Indian forces terrorizing the people during nocturnal raids and subjecting them to a severe torture is a grave human rights issue and a heinous crime and when someone died because of cardiac arrest during such an inhuman operation that is a murder in practical sense not a mere incident.Hurriyat (G) chairman appealed international community and human rights organization across the globe to look into this matter and asked them to use their good offices and press upon the authorities to lodge FIR against the Indian forces involved in this heinous crime.He said AFSPA and DAA is like a naked sword hovering over the heads of the people of Kashmir.Moreover, he expressed deep solidarity with the families of Kapran vaarinaag and said at this point of time and on his directions a high level delegation comprising of Dr Ghulam Mohammad Ganai, Bashir Ahmed Qureshi visited to the bereaved family to express the solidarity and pain which they have gone through.
