Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) on Saturday condemned the desecration of martyrs’ graveyard at Kareemabad, Pulwama and termed it “intolerable”. The party also warned Indian administration of “dire consequences” if the harassment and expulsion of Kashmiri students from Indian educational institutions is not stopped. In a statement issued to KNS, a DFP spokesperson while supporting the demand of Pulwama people that strict action must be taken against the forces who desecrated the martyrs’ graveyard said, “The martyrs’ graves are the symbols of our freedom movement and any kind of disrespect to these is intolerable. We can’t remain silent on such acts by the inhuman occupational forces.”He said Indian forces are frustrated by seeing the respect and regard people have for martyrs and “they vented out their frustration by resorting to such cheap acts”.

The spokesperson also warned the Indian administration of “dire consequences” if the harassment, police action, and expulsion of Kashmiri students from various Indian educational institutions is not stopped.Condemning the murderous assault of Kashmiri students in Jodhpur Dental College, the spokesperson said even the college administration is spewing venom against the Kashmiri students thereby adding fuel to communal fire.Meanwhile, a DFP delegation led by Er Farooq Ahmad Khan which included district Pulwama president Muhammad Amin and district president Shopian Tanveer Ahmad visit Wahil Shopian to express solidarity with the families of mujahedeen who recently achieved martyrdom. On the occasion, tributes were paid to all martyrs and fresh arrest spree in Shopian was condemned.Meanwhile, the DFP spokesperson has supported the shutdown call given by Hurriyat Conference chairman Syed Ali Geelani Sahib for April 12.
