Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today said that the assassins of Mata Chand Kaur, wife of Late Satgur Jagjit Singh of Namdhari Darbar, would be brought to book soon. He said that a high level Special Investigation Team (SIT) has already been formed, which would arrest the assassins very soon. He also said that the Punjab government is closely keeping a tab on the progress of this SIT.The Chief Minister said this while speaking to media persons while attending the cremation of Mata Chand Kaur at Bhaini Sahib, here today. The SIT formed by the Punjab government comprises of Commissioner Police Ludhiana Mr. Jatinder Singh Aulakh as Chairman, SSP Khanna Mr. Satinder Singh and AIG (Crime) Mr. Ravcharan Singh Brar both as members.
While speaking to media persons, the Chief Minister said that Mata Chand Kaur was a very religious person and her untimely and sudden demise has pained him personally. He said that the entire Punjab government is standing rock solid with the family as well as the entire Namdhari Darbar in this hour of grief.Thousands of devotees from across the globe attended the cremation which was held at Bhaini Sahib, the headquarters of Namdhari Darbar, here today. Punjab Irrigation Minister Mr Sharanjit Singh Dhillon, Deputy Commissioner Mr Ravi Bhagat, Police Commissioner Mr Jatinder Singh Aulakh, and a large number of people from different walks of life attended the cremation.
