At least seven youth were Tuesday injured during the clashes between youth and forces in Gudoora area in Pulwama district near an encounter site.Police said the encounter is ongoing and two militants are believed to be trapped in a residential house.As soon as the encounter started youth gathered near the encounter site and started pelting stones towards police anbd paramilitary personnel.Eye-witnesses said that seven youth have been injured due to pellets fired by the police and CRPF to disperse the youth near the encounter site.Police said that 12 policemen received minor injuries in the clashes.
Doctors in District hospital Pulwama told KNS that seven locals were shifted to the hospital for treatment who received injuries in the clashes.The injured persons were identified as Imtiyaz Ahmad Mir, Rayees Ahmad, Abdul Rashid Malik, Feroz Ahmad, Showkat Ahmad Pandit, Nazir Ahmad Bhatand Hilal Ahmad Ahangar.Doctors said that among the seven injured persons, five were shifted to Srinagar’s SKIMS hospital for treatment.Meanwhile, eye-witnesses said that the clashes between youth and forces are still on.Meanwhile, an encounter broke out between forces and militants in Kupwara districts village on Tuesday afternoon, an official said.An official told KNS that an encounter broke out between militants and forces at at Dardpora area of Lolab in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.Police assisted by army’s 28 RR launched a cordon and search operation near Jindyal hamlet of village Dardpora following specific information about a group of militants hiding in the area, officials said.‘The militants according to an official believed to be two to three in number,’ he said.The encounter was on till the report was last filed.
