Describing Aam Adami Party (AAP) as band of fugitives and anti-Punjab elements, Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal today called upon the Punjabis to beware of their nefarious designs and narrow political vested interests.Paying glorious tributes to the Panth Rattan Late Jathedar Gurcharan Singh Tohra on his 12th death anniversary here at his native village, Mr. Badal asked the people not to fell prey to the AAP’s misleading propaganda otherwise they would left with no other option but to repent for this ‘remorseful act’ for the rest of their life. He categorically stated that AAP has no definite agenda for the overall development of the state and welfare of its people. However, their sole agenda was to rule Punjab by hook or crook just to satiate their lust for power.Exhorting Punjabis to give another opportunity to SAD-BJP alliance to serve the people of Punjab besides ensuring sustained pace of all round development and prosperity of all sections of society, Mr. Badal said inexperienced and novice leadership of AAP would certainly land you in soup rather extending a helping hand, which was evident from its Delhi model of governance.

Whereas, the SAD-BJP alliance was a trusted and time tested brand and therefore the people reposed unflinching faith and confidence in its policies and programmes. Mr. Badal quipped, “How can you expect of a new political entity to do justice, which was not seized of the hardships faced by the people at grass roots level?” He said SAD-BJP alliance was an all weather friend party, which could feel the pulse of people besides resolving their grievances to their absolute satisfaction. Castigating AAP for fiddling with the sentiments of innocent people of Punjab, Mr. Badal said that this was not only deplorable but also highly unethical, because any political outfit indulging in such gimmicks should refrain from it just to befool people to fulfill their political ambitions nurtured by them.Training guns at the Congress party, the Chief Minister said that it has surpassed all records of betraying the people of Punjab on every issue be it social, political, economic or religious. He said a classic example of their apathy towards Punjab was having denied its rightful share in river waters in defiance of nationally and internationally accepted riparian principle, attack on Sri Harmandar Sahib, 1984 genocide of Sikhs, depriving it of Chandigarh as capital and transfer of Punjabi speaking areas to the state.

Mr. Badal impressed upon the people of Punjab to be prepared to oust those political parties, which were pursuing the politics of opportunism thereby swaying their emotions by promising a moon to them in the run up to the forthcoming assembly elections in the state. He said another term for SAD-BJP alliance was all the more important to accomplish its unfinished agenda of development and prosperity in the near future.Making a firm resolve not to share a single drop of water with anyone, Mr. Badal reiterated his stand on river waters, which was the lifeline of the state and to alienate it from the same would not be tolerated at any cost. Without mincing any words, Mr. Badal called upon the people to be prepared for any sacrifice to save the river waters adding the Chief Minister said even he or his party would not hesitate to make any supreme sacrifice to save the precious natural resource- water, which almost affected every section of the society.

Listing few major achievements of his government for the welfare of peasantry, Mr. Badal mentioned that SAD-BJP alliance government has so far given free power in agriculture sector worth Rs.48,000 crore, interest free crop loan worth Rs.50,000 and cashless health insurance of Rs.50,000 besides insurance of Rs.5 lac in case of accidental death or in case of incapacitation of the head of the family. Recalling his long association with Late Jathedar Tohra, Mr. Badal said that he was not merely an individual but an institution. Being a multi-faceted personality, he made unparalleled contribution in the political, social, religious and educational fields through his astute leadership and statesmanship. On the occasion, the Chief Minister released a souvenir on the life and works of Late Jathedar Tohra.Prominent amongst others who were present on the occasion included Cabinet Ministers Jathedar Tota Singh and S. Surjit Singh Rakhra, Member Parliament from Sri Anandpur Sahib Prof. Prem Singh Chandumajra, Chairman Punjab State Backward Classes Commission Prof. Kirpal Singh Badungar, former Minister S. Harmel Singh, Member SGPC Bibi Kuldeep Kaur, Chairman Market Committee Mr. Harinderpal Singh Tohra, local Akali leader S. Makhan Singh Lalka besides several leaders and party workers of Shiromani Akali Dal and members of SGPC.
