Former Australian parliamentarian, Pat Farmer culminated his 4,600 km long marathon run “Spirit of India-Kanyakumari to Kashmir” by planting a Chinar sapling here at Mughal Garden Nishat garden today.Enchanted by the scenic beauty of Kashmir, the former Australian parliamentarian asked tourists across the world to visit the valley at least once in their life.He said Kashmir Valley has unparalleled beauty, which tourists from all the countries should experience by visiting the place at least once in their lifetime.He said he would ask his friends and family to definitely come to valley to enjoy the natural beauty here.

Mr. Farmer suggested the state government to stress on the medical as well as adventure tourism in valley to lure more international tourism.Later he also visited Tulip Garden Srinagar and praised the beauty of the Asia's largest Tulip garden.The tour programme is conducted by the Department of Tourism, Kashmir and was attended by Director Tourism, Mehmood Shah, Deputy Director, Peerzada Zahoor and officials from other concerned departments.
