Consequent to Governor N.N. Vohra raising issue with the Union Home Ministry about students from Kashmir being unnecessarily harassed, the Delhi Police has nominated Mr. Taj Hasan, Special Commissioner of Police (Crime), and assigned him the responsibility of personally dealing with any complaint or problem faced by any J&K student studying in Delhi. Mr. Hasan’s telephone number is 011-23490211 (land line) and 23490346 (Fax). Email address of Special Commissioner/ Crime is [email protected] . Special Helpline no is 1093 and 100.Ministry of Home Affairs(MHA) has also issued an advisory to all the Chief Secretaries/DGPs to ensure the protection of students from J&K. MHA has requested the concerned Chief Secretaries/DGPs to identify a designated Police officer in their State to whom any such complaint of harassment could be directly conveyed for ensuring timely action. The Raj Bhavan is following up this matter.
