Visitors, tourists and participants bade farewell to the world’s brightest 5k event, The Electric Run, as it concluded its colourful mix of lights, music, fitness and entertainment in Sharjah’s Al Majaz Waterfront on Friday March 25th. The international bespoke event, organised by “Fast Track”, debuted its latest experience in the emirate of Sharjah in a strategic partnership with the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq).Ahmed Obaid Al Qaseer – Chief Operating Officer of the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq), said: “The event was a huge success and we were impressed with the number of visitors and tourists taking part in the “Electric Run”. They were involved in creating some of the most beautiful and colourful displays at Al Majaz Waterfront. Hosting such global events truly reflects Sharjah’s most remarkable and admired destinations that continuously attract unique sports and entertainment events from around the world.”
Al Majaz Waterfront, Sharjah’s premiere destination for family and tourists, was led by some of the most creative and colorful light displays and activities, which made Al Majaz the brightest destination in the region. The Sharjah “Electric Run” saw mass participation of families, friends and fitness-lovers of all nationalities and ages exhibiting multiple luminous music, fitness and entertainment activities featured at the event. Electric runners used glow sticks, creative neon make-up, LEDs and other creative objects which contributed to lightning up Al Majaz and the entire vicinity of the 5k event. Visitors and contestants were also treated to a night filled with energy, live DJs, light installations, dancers and performers that took them through the 5km route featuring seven themed course lands - Electro Rainforest, Rainbow Road, Teddy Bear Lane, Neffmau5 Land, Colour Brick Road and The Powerhouse. The 5k event was concluded with a unique line-up of top local DJs who hosted a spectacular end of race party in the Festival Area.H.E. Marwan Bin Jassim Al Sarkal, CEO at the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq), Ahmed Obaid Al Qaseer and other officials from Shurooq were amongst the key participants who took part in the event as contestants in the 5k run.

Other event partners include Careem - the online chauffeur-driven car service providing discounted journeys to and from the event venue and Copthorne Hotel Sharjah. Meanwhile, Fitness First kicked-off the run with a special warm-up session, while runners were kept hydrated by Masafi who provided all water supplies.
