TB Day observed in Old Hospital Pulwama

Like other parts of the state World Tuberculosis (TB) day was also observed in Old Hospital Pulwama by the Department of Health today.Earlier, a rally comprising students of various schools was flagged off by the DDC Pulwama Niraj Kumar which culminated at the Old Hospital Pulwama. On the occasion the DDC Pulwama said that every section of the society will have to cooperate with the mission to root out the TB.During the function, Chief Medical Officer Pulwama said that RNTCP patients are provided DOTS for recovering from the deadly disease.The DDC stressed upon the Paramedical staff of the hospital to conduct a survey in far flung areas of the district and create awareness among the common people about the disease. He also stressed for keeping available facilities in all health centres to counter the TB.A large number of people including students, ASHA workers, Anganwadi workers and representatives of different NGOs were present on this occasion during which three students were also awarded with prizes for best speech regarding the eradication of TB.
