Srinagar , 17 Mar 2016

Independent lawmaker, Er Rasheed, Thursday while condemning attack on Kashmiri students in Mewar and their arrest by the police for the rumours of eating beef in the University campus has asked law enforcing agencies to give up double standards and not act on the dictates of right wing Hindu organizations.Interacting with various deputations in Srinagar today he said, “While in Uttarakhand a BJP MLA Ganish Joshi is booked for beating a horse and not only Congress, his own party colleague Monika Gandhi is seeking his expulsion from BJP and many BJP MLAs have visited horse to know about its wellbeing and Uttrakhand Chief Minister had to say that he is worried about health of horse.”

“Those shelling pellets, pepper and tear gas at Kashmiris go unnoticed and in fact are being often rewarded. Kashmiris are being harassed, tortured, humiliated and disgraced one way or the other only for being Kashmiris and are being treated as anti-nationals everywhere,” he said, “there is no logic to threaten Kashmiri students in Mewar, West Bengal and other parts of India only for the reason that the right wing Hindu organizations derive pleasure out of it. Let all those elements realize that the attacks on Kashmiris may polarize situation in Kashmir and certain elements within Kashmir may be forced to show their anger against the outsiders, who stay in Kashmir for one reason or the other.” (CNS)
