Parliament Member and senior People’s Democratic Party leader Muzaffar Hussain Beigh Thursday urged upon Central Government to ensure safety of all Kashmiri citizens especially students studying in different parts of India.From New Delhi, Beigh told CNS over phone that Central Government has though already instructed the heads of different states to ensure safety of Kashmiri students and yet if the harassment continues, the students should approach National Human Rights Commission. “I vehemently condemn the harassment of Kashmiri students in different parts of country including Kolkatta and Rajsthan and appeal Government of India. It is a worrying sign and it needs to be taken seriously,” Beigh said. He advised Kashmiri students to come up with details and approach NHRC if they are being harassed anywhere in India. “I will raise the issue in the Parliament and will seek answer from the Government of India,” he said and added that it is the duty of the University authorities to secure the life and rights of Kashmiri students.
