District Information Centre, Ramban organized a debate competition on the topic “Advantages of Clean and Green Environment” at Indian Star English Medium School Govind Pura here today.Principal host school, Zaheer Ahmed Bali was chief guest whereas District Information Officer, Ramban presided over the function. Fizan Azmat, Sana Mughal and Ajaz Ahmed Katoch adjudged the competition.Shafia Latief stood 1st while Salman Gani and Ayaan Sharief clinched 2nd and 3rd positions in the competition. As many as 10 students from host school from different classes participated in the competition and expressed their valuable views on the topic.

Appreciating the role of the Department of Information and Public Relations, the chief guest emphasized the need for maintaining a clean and green environment in our surrounding for ensuring healthy and disease-free life. He said environment protection is responsibility of every individual and students are the best ambassadors to spread the message of protecting the environment.The DIO impressed upon the students to take part in extra circular activities for their overall development apart from their study.A colourful cultural programme of singing and dance was also presented by the local artists and students on the occasion. Certificates and trophies were distributed among the best performers.
