Deputy Commissioner, Yasha Mudgal today inaugurated “Deputy Commissioner Badminton Championship” at Jhelum Indoor Stadium Janbazpora Baramulla. Officers from District administration, Police and Army besides, a huge number of students were  present on the occassion .As many as 85 teams are taking part in the Championship. Both doubles and singles teams of men and Women will be playing in the tournament.While entrusting upon the students  to ensure participation in sports championships, the DC added, “Sports is inevitable for the all-round development of a person. Not only the participation in the district or state championships, but to play at the national and international level must be the goal.”  The DC, while expressing happiness over the conduct of such a sports event, appreciated the enthusiasm of the participating players.Meanwhile, Yasha Mudgal announced  that Rs. 15, 000 and 10,000 will be awarded to the Winners and Runners of the Doubles events, respectively. While as Rs. 10,000 and 5,000 will be awarded to the Winners and Runners of the Singles events, respectively.The Deputy Commissioner also distributed Badminton Sports Kits among the Players.
