DGAT reviews performance of Treasures in Jammu div

The 15th Review Meeting of Treasuries of Jammu Province was held under the chairmanship ofDirector General Accounts & Treasuries (DGAT), Finance Department, J&K, Altaf Hassan Mirza.Director Accounts & Treasuries, Jammu, Principal NZATI, D.C. Stamps, Jammu, 'Principal System Analyst NIC and representatives of the Accountant General and Joint Director Funds Organization, Jammu were also present in the meeting.The DGAT advised all the Treasury Officers to behave politely with the general public as the efficient functioning of the Treasury reflects the good image of the Government. He instructed the Treasury Officers to strictly adhere to the Treasury Code as the Treasuries are the financial face of the Government and custodian of the public, exchequer. He directed the Treasury Officers not to entertain the bills/claims of DDOs in the Treasury after March 30 2016. He also informed the quorum that no cheque should be entertained in the Treasury afterApril5 2016. 

The DGAT directed all the Treasury Officers to upload the NPS amounts and transfer theamount by or before 15th of every month to Axis Bank. For the convenience of the general public the Director General Accounts & Treasuries impressed upon all the Treasury Officers to put the information regarding the date of authorization (Object head-wise) in public domain by displaying the liabilities cleared on the notice board in the Treasury precincts.The status of computerization and position of audit paras were also discussed threadbare with every Treasury Officer. The Treasury Officers who are working online were directed to submit computerized accounts to the concerned quarters without any further delay. The DGAT appreciated the improvements in Treasury working since last review.
