The Pre-conception and Pre-natal Sex Diagnostic Techniques (Prohibition & Regulation), Act Review meeting was today held at Baramulla, under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner, Yasha Mudgal.As many as 9 registration cases, including 5 fresh cases and 4 renewal cases of USG clinics were taken up during the meeting. Seven cases were cleared for registration, while as one case was rejected and one case was kept in pendency. All necessary rules and guidelines under PC & PNDT Act were taken into consideration while deciding the cases.Meanwhile, the DDC impressed upon the Chief Medical Officer to keep strict vigil on the functioning of the USG clinics in the district. Strict directions were issued to close down all the unregistered USG clinics on immediate basis. It was mentioned that strict action under Law will be initiated against Clinics which don’t follow all the provisions and rules under PC & PNDT Act.Joint director planning A.G Malik, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Bashir Ahmad Chalkoo, DHO, Dr. Abdul Rashid, , Medical superintendents Dr Syeed Masood, Block Medical Officers and various Medical experts attended the Review meeting.
