Director General of Police, Prisons, J&K S. K. Mishra today inaugurated 33 KV-1MVA power transformer here at the district Jail.According to the Superintendent District Jail Anantnag, the augmentation of power infrastructure would facilitate 24 hours essential power supply in the Jail.The Sub Transmission Division of Power Development Department, Bijbehara commissioned the project at a cost of more than Rs 50 lakhs.The DGP Prisons, after taking over as HoD conceived this project for execution through STD Bijbehara in view of power failures at the jail located in outskirts of the Anantnag town.The Superintendent said commissioning of the 33 KV-1MVA transformer will go a long way to improve power supply and prove a boon for the security and other allied infrastructure at the institution.The DGP prisons also inspected ongoing work under SRE at the district Jail and gave on-spot directions for early completion of the same.On this occasion SSP Anantnag, Executive Engineer and AEE of Sub Transmission Division PDD, Company Commandant 96 Bn CRPF and the technical team accompanied the DGP Prisons, J&K.
