The Department of Information and Public Relations, organized a symposium on the topic “Drug addiction - a threat to mankind” at Govt General Zorawar Singh Memorial Degree College Reasi here today.HOD Zoology, Professor   Ram Singh was the chief guest on the occasion.As many as 10 students of the institution participated in the contest and highlighted the harmful effects of Drug Addiction in life.Taiba- Ul- Nesa of  B.Sc  Sem( IV)  was adjudged first while Salma of  B.Sc  Sem( IV)and Pooja Rajput of BA Semester iv stood 2nd and 3rd respectively. Pooja Sharma BA   Sem iv and Akrity SharmaBA Semester iv  bagged consolation prizes.

While speaking on the occasion, Mr Ram Singh appreciated the efforts of Information Department for organizing such events in the College for mass awareness among the students about the harmful effects of Drug addiction. He urged the department to organize more such programmes in the near future also.Later, the chief guest also distributed prizes and certificates among the participants of the contest.Dr. Prem Singh, Dr.Karan Singh, and Ms. Rubina Kousar acted as judges while Professor Bharti Sharma and Shivani conducted the proceeding of the programme.College staff members, large number of students were present on the occasion.
