To express solidarity with JNU students and to condemn the detention of SAR Geelani by Delhi Police, International Forum for Justice and Human Rights organized protests in both parts of Indian and Pakistan held Kashmir.Muhammd Ahsan Untoo who appeared in Press Enclave here with posters expressing solidarity with JNU students was arrested and lodged in police station Kothi Bagh. He was also carrying two books titled, “Flashback-Kashmir Story Since 1846” and “Dilkharash Hallat.” Untoo told reporters both these books present a complete insight about Kashmir history and how people here were subjugated by India. Hestrongly condemned the arrests from Delhi to Kashmir and termed them as undemocratic and uncalled for. The Indian democracy is hollow which doesn’t support and tolerate freedom of expression,” he said.
Pakistan administered Kashmir based International Forum for Justice and Human Rights also staged a protest expressing solidarity with JNU students. The protest march that was taken out from Muzaffarabad Press Club was led by vice chairman of the organization Mushtaq-ul-Islam and it was attended by traders, scholars and other section of society. The protesters denounced the detention of SAR Geelani by Delhi Police and urged upon India to stop unnecessary ‘harassment’ of Kashmiri students in New Delhi and other parts of country. The protesters submitted a memorandum to UN office which said that United Nations and international community must come forward to stop India from intimidating minorities and Dalits. (CNS)
