Attack on Kashmiri truckers: Haryana police register case against attackers

Police in Haryana have registered a case after unidentified mobsters from Jat Community set a Kashmiri truck on fire which resulted in injuries to two truckers hailing from Valley.As already reported by GNS, two truckers namely Javeed Ahmad Mir (conductor) and Firdous Ahmad (Driver) of Gund Braught Sopore sustained burn injuries when their truck (JK05C- 8089) was set on fire around 4am at Murthal in Sonipat district of Haryana state by Jat protestors yesterday.The truck owner Shameem Ahmad Tantary who rushed to Haryana had lodged a complaint with police in Murthal area of Sonipat district but the police there had refused to lodge FIR. However the Abhishek Garg, IPS, who is the SP of Sonipat had assured GNS that he would take action after proper confirmation about the incident.

Javaid Mir, the truck conductor, told GNS over phone from Harayana that they were called by police at 6 pm today and were informed that a case under FIR No. 21/2016 under section 427 (mischief) IPC has been registered after their complaint.“We have suffered loss of around 5 lakhs on account of commodaties, besides the vehicle”, Mir said.Pertinently, the violence in Haryana started on Friday in Haryana as Jat protesters are seeking quota. The protesters in the ongoing violence have set buses, cars, malls, petrol pumps, railway stations and other institute on fire. (GNS)
