Ludhiana , 23 Feb 2016

Although the Union government have decided to develop Ludhiana into a “Smart City”, but the District Administration has now vowed to make the entire district “Smart”. The District Administration has already launched “Know Your Patwari” and a Facebook page for connecting directly with its residents and making its working smart and more professional. Today, a new facility named “M-Sehat” was launched by Deputy Commissioner Mr Ravi Bhagat. While speaking to media persons after the launch of this facility, Mr Bhagat said that “M-Sehat” is a mobile SMS facility through which parents of the child and area ANM would be intimated about the child’s immunisation from time to time for a period of one year. He said that main aim of this facility is that no child is left without proper immunisation. He said that six very important injections are to be administered to a newly born child in first year of his birth and if they are left, it affects the child’s health in a big way.

The Deputy Commissioner said that it has been noticed that some parents forget about the child’s timely immunisation, due to which the child’s health suffers. He said that in some cases even the ANM forgets to intimate the parents on time and this facility would keep a check on all such issues. He said that at the time of pregnancy, when the lady gets herself registered at the time of admission in a Government Hospital, her phone number is also noted down. He said that through this facility, an SMS would be sent to that particular phone number.Mr Ravi Bhagat said that these messages would be in Punjabi and English language and would have details such as parents name, child name, immunisation date and address of nearby government dispensary or hospital. These messages would be sent on every Tuesday and Thursday and they would not be delivered on mobile phones with “Do Not Disturb” option activated on them. He said that for getting details under this facility, the parents should get this option deactivated.

DC Mr Ravi Bhagat said that very soon, an “Immunisation Mobile App” would be launched which would be in Hindi, Punjabi and English languages. He said that the users would be able to get all details related to immunisation through this mobile app and would also have a reminder option. Both “M-Sehat” and “Immunisation Mobile App” would be monitored directly by ADC (D) Miss Apneet Kaur Riyat.Prominent among those present on the occasion included Civil Surgeon Dr Renu Chhatwal, District Immunisation Officer Dr Balwinder Singh, besides several others.
