While terming the registration of sedition charges against the Kashmiri Scholar Prof Sayed Abdul Rehman Geelani, unjust crackdown of the Delhi police against the Kashmiri students and the detention of JNU students as fascism and worst kind of state terrorism on India, Hurriyat Conference (G) Secretary General Shabir Ahmad Shah called for a sit-in protest at every district head quarters after the Friday prayers on 26 February and complete statewide shutdown on 27 February Saturday against this. While strongly condemning the issuing of death threat to Hurriyat (G) Chairman Syed Ali Geelani by a gangster Ravi Pujari, Shah cautioned that any untoward incident with Geelani will have serious consequences and it will set the entire Jammu & Kashmir on fire. While terming India a “Brahman Samaj”, Shabir Ahmad Shah while addressing the media persons at his Sanatnagar office said that Kashmir issue is a living reality which the Indian people are themselves accepting now.

The pro-Kashmir voices are now being raised from the Jawaharlal Nehru and other Universities of India and suppression of these voices are being seriously noticed. This is very pleasing and encouraging for us and it is strengthening the freedom sentiments of the Kashmiri nation.Shabir Ahmad Shah said that India is not only occupying the Jammu & Kashmir with the help of its military might but it also uses its entire state machinery to suppress the other minorities and lower cast living in this country. Indian rulers are mad in the arrogance of power which begets a normal and natural reaction from the oppressed people. He said that the Prof S A R Geelani and the other students hadn’t committed any such crime which could invite sedition charges. The actions of the Indian government over this minor issue is the clear violation the freedom of expression and the citizen rights of the people which has no legal or moral justifications.

Attempts were made to frame SAR Geelani in the parliament attack case but that time the court proved him innocent and ordered his release and since then the Indian government is taming vengeance policy against him and he was again today arrested for the crime which he hadn’t committed.Shah said that the Delhi court was not having any constitutional or moral justification to deny the bail application of SAR Geelani and it was a politically motivated decision and the court succumbed to the pressure of communal forces and the biased media mafia and announced the unfair decision.Hurriyat (G) Secretary General also strongly condemned the arrest and assault over the JNU student’s Union president Kanhaiya Kumar and said that the Indian fascist media had declared the JNU scholars including Umar Khalid as terrorists but their return to the university campus has badly exposed this extremely biased media.

While condemning the Delhi police crackdown over the Kashmiri students, Shabir Ahmad Shah said that this harassment had forced many students to return home. The Delhi police is continuously following the movements of the Kashmiri students.Kashmiri nation will not remain silent over these excesses and if the SAR Geelani and the other Kashmiri and non-Kashmiri students are not immediately released, a strong reaction will come to fore in Kashmir against this. While appealing for peaceful protest demonstration after the Friday prayers on 26 February and complete shutdown on 27 February Saturday, Shabir Ahmad Shah said that the people of Pirpanjal and the Chenab Valley are also part of this program. While talking about the contacts with the other pro-freedom groups, Shah appealed all the transporters and Traders to cooperate in making the proposed program a success and strengthen the collective cause of their nation.
