Chief Secretary, B R Sharma  Friday  stressed on expediting the work on the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway in a meeting, he chaired here.Chief Secretary received brief on the action taken with respect to the directions given earlier to address issues impeding the construction work in certain portions of the National Highway.Deputy Commissioners of Srinagar, Anantnag, Ramban and Udhampur reported the latest position with respect to land acquisition, removal of structures, utilities and trees.Chief Secretary issued instructions to Divisional Commissioners, DCs, Revenue Department, PDD and NHAI to expedite resolution of the few remaining bottlenecks so that National Highway construction is completed at the earliest. 

Chief Secretary also reviewed the status of the Udhampur-Srinagar Rail Link Project with directions to expedite the work on the various components of the project and address issues in a time bound manner.Meanwhile, Chief Secretary asked administrative Secretaries to update the latest status of important projects on the eSamiksha Portal of the Union Government.eSamiksha is a real time, on-line system for monitoring of follow-up action on the decisions taken during the presentations made by different Ministries/Departments to the Prime Minister. Chief Secretary said that status of the project/schemes should be updated regularly on the Portal by the concerned departments.
