Rs. 25 crore will be spent for various development works to be carried out in 100 villages of Block Dera Bassi. Sufficient funds will be ensured for providing urban facilities in rural areas. This was stated by Chief Parliamentary Secretary Industrial & Commerce Sh. N.K.Sharma while non-formal addressing to press at Dera Bassi.Sh. Sharma said that first installment of Rs. 8 crore will be released first and will be distributed to the village Panchayats through cheques by covering five villages on daily basis. Sh. Sharma said that prior meeting in this regards have been got carried out with village Panchayats, wherein detailed information and discussion regarding various development works to be carried out in the villages were discussed. He said that sufficient grant will be provided for each development work and pounding works will also be got completed soon. He said that 7 marriage palaces are being constructed in the region for which the work was incomplete. 

Now such pending works will be completed on first priority which will be beneficial for the villagers. As such villagers need not to spend much for booking marriage palaces in the main city rather they could organize their marriage functions and other gathering at reasonable rates in the village itself. He also said that each and every street and drain of the village will not remain unpaved and grant will also be issued for graveyard, cremation grounds in the village. Besides this proper drainage arrangement will be done in the village to ensure clean and green environment. He said that sufficient funds will be ensured for developing block Dera Bassi as a model city.

Sh. Sharma said that Rs. 12 crore will be spent for installing solar power plant at water works of 63 villages which will save energy and will also ensure 24 hours water supply to the villagers. He further said that under Swachh Bharat Mission, work for construction of 9500 toilets worth Rs. 15 crore will be completed soon which will facilitate the public and will eliminate open defecation. Sh. Sharma said that a special survey will be conducted to figure out the no. of mud houses or having un-concreted roofs and special financial help will be provided to ensure concrete roof for all.
