Punjab government has set up hi-tech a centre of Excellence for cattle breeding farm at a cost of Rs. 42.19 crore equipped with hi-tech scientific infrastructure under National Agriculture Development Plan.Disclosing this here today Animal Husbandry Minister Gulzar Singh Ranike  Punjab said that as a part of the diversification policy conceived by the government, the animal husbandry and dairy development and fisheries was being encouraged as an alternative and remunerative  trade in Punjab. He said that to execute this strategy, the Modern Breeding Farm would prove to be a boon for the promising dairy farmers.He also said that in order to ensure absolute health cover to the livestock, the Punjab government has asked the Veterinary doctors to provide periodic health checkups to the animals and extend immediate medical care to them.

Adding further, the Minister said that the Embryo transfer technology, feed mill and Veterinary Polytechnic set up earlier needed immediate up gradation in centre of Excellence for cattle breeding farm and this modern high tech farm also  protect  animals from  bio-security risks .He said that Punjab government was paying special attention to create conducive atmosphere in the Center for Cattle Breeding Farm for standardised breeding of animals. This would increase the prospects of producing quality semen for developing quality bulls. Similarly, breeding of high quality of H.F, Jersey and Sahewal cows would be enhanced in the State  and the all process of breeding secured in the hi-tech ETT labs by using of modernise technology. To impart instructional expertise to the dairy farmers, the Government has set up exclusive training centres where practical training based on scientific experiments would be provided in the presence of the established renowned dairy farmers. To cater to the needs of localised farmers, they would be acquainted with the latest research done in the fields of cattle breeding and dairy farming especially in the local dialect
